August 22, 2012 North Myrtle Beach, SC – Named Isaac, the newest hurricane is being closely watched by the major severe weather Courtesy of The Weather Channelforecasters. Right now it is a 45 mph storm located in the eastern Caribbean moving towards Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic but is expected to reach hurricane force winds by Thursday. The National Hurricane Center, The Weather Channel and AccuWeather all are projecting some impact on Florida by Sunday or early Monday. Beyond forecasting some impact, forecasters cannot be more precise as many factors are at play that will influence the actual path and intensity.
The bottom line is that if you live along the central and eastern Gulf Coast or in the southeastern United States, you should keep track of the changing projections into next week as the forecast becomes more certain and the exact impacts become clearer.
