July 24, 2012 North Myrtle Beach, SC – A special charity event is featuring home town North Myrtle Beach firefighter Chris Nash competing to be the next Mr. Myrtle Beach. The contest features he and 11 others contending for the title. With your vote you can push Nash into the winning column and at the same time help a very worthy cause – Katie’s Closet.
 Katie’s Closet is a special boutique available for qualifying students to receive free formal wear for a prom or other special event. Students must complete an application in advance and schedule an appointment with a Katie’s Closet project volunteer. The winner of the Mr. Myrtle Beach Man Contest will be presented Saturday, September 15, Revolutions Night Club, Broadway at the Beach. Doors open at 5 pm. Show starts at 6 pm. Admission is $5.
You can help in another way, in addition to voting for Nash. Gowns are always welcome as long as they are current style, clean and ready to wear. Stained, ripped, torn or misused gowns will not be accepted. Along with gowns, consider donating shoes, new makeup, costume jewelry, hair accessories, formal purses and handbags. Katie’s Closet, in partnership with Georges’ Alley, will take out of style gowns and recycle them into custom accessories or clothing. |
