Salute from the Shore III - Come out to the beach, carry a flag or wear red, white and blue as 5 F-16s from the 79th Fighter Squadron “The Flying Tigers” of the 20th Fighter Wing stationed at Shaw Air Force Base fly from the North Carolina at Little River to Folly Beach, SC. In addition, the group announced the addition of an aerial parade, including vintage military aircraft that will follow the F-16s from Myrtle Beach to Folly Beach. This special procession is being piloted by private aircraft owners who will host military veterans aboard their aircraft. July 4, 2012, 9:30 pm till …. The 19th Annual Fireworks display at The Cherry Grove Fishing Pier is the area’s largest. The pier is located at 3500 N. Ocean Blvd. in the Cherry Grove section of North Myrtle Beach. The Pier spans ¼ mile off of the coastal shore, adjacent to the Prince Resort. This makes for a beautiful display and along with the other activities, this event is certainly a memorable evening for the entire family. This is a free event. Thursday, July 5, 6:30 – 8:30 pm on Main Street. Free concert. The Dickens mix up classic R&B, classic and modern rock, 80s retro, reggae, old skool and current hip-hop, and everything in between. From Bob Marley to the Beastie Boys, Otis Redding to Outkast, the Stones to Snoop, Stevie Wonder to Sublime, it’s a non-stop party. O.D. Pavilion – Larger and better than ever! The OD Pavilion has rides for all ages, challenging games, food, snacks, and more. Take a ride on the Ferris Wheel for a great view of the ocean and Cherry Grove. The O.D. Pavilion is in the heart of North Myrtle Beach at Main Street and Ocean Blvd.
North Myrtle Beach Aquatics and Fitness Center - A daily rate of $15 per person, age 5 and older and $5 per person, age 4 and under is available. Even better if you have children, with a daily pass the Center will watch your child for $3 per hour per child. For that little amount, you folks that were jogging on the beach can enjoy an indoor two lane track. Miss your beach volleyball, play basketball or racquetball instead. Go wild on the treadmills, recumbent bikes, rowers and so much more. Instead of that ocean swim enjoy the large indoor pools. The indoor water slide is open 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm M-F. The Aquatics and Fitness Center is located at 1100 Second Avenue South, North Myrtle Beach. Closed for the Fourth of July.
