June 19, 2012 North Myrtle Beach, SC – The question as to whether the noon time incident today was another shark bite is yet to be determined by authorities, although local media reports that friends of the victim are certain his wound was from a shark.
If confirmed this will bring to six shark bites this season – a new record for the last 12 years. The average is between two and three a year.
The others occurred in Myrtle Beach on June 14 when four people were bitten within minutes of each from 72nd to 82nd Avenue North and on June 2nd near the 2nd Avenue pier.
