Horry County to change towing ordinance

Earlier this year, Horry County Council began regulating tow companies in the County, but Monday they revisited the topic and say they're some loopholes in the system that need to be fixed.

Horry County Council is getting complaints that some towing companies in town are moving cars from where they were in violation to locations, sometimes only around the corner and then coming back looking for more cars to pick up.

Kind of like a staging area before they are hauled off to the authorized towing lot.

That means the towing companies can get back out there and tow more cars and make more money.
