NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Nearly 3,000 paratroopers and their families will converge along the northern Grand Strand for the 173rd Paratrooper Reunion this weekend.
The Golden Knights will kick off the celebration Thursday evening at 6 p.m. by parachuting out of planes hovering above North Myrtle Beach and landing along the beaches off of Main Street.
Event organizers say South Carolina Lt. Gov. Andre Bauer is also expected to make remarks Thursday before a presentation to attending World War II veterans by the City of North Myrtle Beach.
National Recording Artist Cimmaron will close out the night with a concert along Main Street, as it comes alive with the display of military equipment, food and entertainment.
