Area leaders continue to focus on Interstate 73 with efforts to secure funding for the much needed Grand Strand Interstate highway connection.

One of the U. S. Senators from South Carolina, Lindsay Graham, will be in the area this coming Thursday for a luncheon and speech which will focus on the interstate highway. The senator will be at the Bay Watch Resort beginning at 12 noon in an invitation only event.

In another matter involving the interstate, U. S. Representative Henry Brown from South Carolina, has been appointed to a joint committee which will hammer out the details of the transportation bill which includes funding for the proposed interstate highway.
